           Theyallgotcrazyatlast,andsangoutforthekeeper,andthemancameandclimbeduptheladderoutside,andshoutedoutdirectionstothem. Butalltheirheadswere,bythistime,insuchaconfusedwhirlthattheywereincapableofgraspinganything,andsothemantoldthemtostopwheretheywere,andhewouldcometothem. Theyhuddledtogether,andwaited;andheclimbeddown,andcamein. 

           Hewasayoungkeeper,asluckwouldhaveit,andnewtothebusiness;andwhenhegotin,hecouldn’tfindthem,andhewanderedabout,tryingtogettothem,andthenhegotlost. Theycaughtsightofhim,everynowandthen,rushingabouttheothersideofthehedge,andhewouldseethem,andrushtogettothem,andtheywouldwaitthereforaboutfiveminutes,andthenhewouldreappearagaininexactlythesamespot,andaskthemwheretheyhadbeen. 

           Theyhadtowaittilloneoftheoldkeeperscamebackfromhisdinnerbeforetheygotout.
