           Sotheyrodethroughtheforesttilltheycametotwomoretents.AndSirToralighting,wentintothefirst,andsawthreedamselsliethere,sleeping.Thenwenthetotheother,andfoundanotherladyalsosleeping,andatherfeetthewhitehoundhesoughtfor,whichinstantlybegantobayandbarksoloudly,thattheladywoke.ButSirTorhadseizedthehoundandgivenittothedwarfscharge.

           “Whatwillyedo,Sirknight?”criedoutthelady;“willyetakeawaymyhoundfrommebyforce?”

           “Yea,lady,”saidSirTor;“forsoImust,havingtheking’scommand;andIhavefolloweditfromKingArthur’scourt,atCamelot,tothisplace.”

           “Well”saidthelady,“yewillnotgofarbeforeyebeillhandled,andwillrepentyeofthequest.”

           “Ishallcheerfullyabidewhatsoeveradventurecometh,bythegraceofGod,”saidSirTor;andsomountedhishorseandbegantoridebackonhisway.Butnightcomingon,heturnedasidetoahermitagethatwasintheforest,andthereabodetillthenextday,makingbutsorrowfulcheerofsuchpoorfoodasthehermithadtogivehim,andhearingaMassdevoutlybeforeheleftonthemorrow.
