TheEarlleanedbackinhischairandstared.Hecouldnotbesaidtoknowhowitwasaboutadmiringhisrelations.Hehademployedmostofhisnobleleisureinquarrelingviolentlywiththem,inturningthemoutofhishouse,andapplyingabusiveepithetstothem;andtheyallhatedhimcordially.
“Anyboywouldlovehisgrandfather,”continuedLordFauntleroy,“especiallyonethathadbeenaskindtohimasyouhavebeen.”
Anotherqueergleamcameintotheoldnobleman’seyes.
