Heknewverylittleaboutchildren,thoughhehadseenplentyoftheminEngland—fine,handsome,rosygirlsandboys,whowerestrictlytakencareofbytheirtutorsandgovernesses,andwhoweresometimesshy,andsometimesatrifleboisterous,butneververyinterestingtoaceremonious,rigidoldlawyer.PerhapshispersonalinterestinlittleLordFauntleroy’sfortunesmadehimnoticeCeddiemorethanhehadnoticedotherchildren;but,howeverthatwas,hecertainlyfoundhimselfnoticinghimagreatdeal.
