Magnuswassortingpapers.Fromtheheapuponhislefthandheselectedadocument,openedit,glancedoverit,thentieditcarefully,andlaiditawayuponasecondpileonhisrighthand.Whenallthepaperswereinonepile,hereversedtheprocess,takingfromhisrighthandtoplaceuponhisleft,thenbackfromlefttorightagain,thenoncemorefromrighttoleft.Hespokenoword,hesatabsolutelystill,evenhiseyesdidnotmove,onlyhishands,swift,nervous,agitated,seemedalive.
