Invariablythesejokesfooledsomeoneintheline.Anoldman,orsomeoldwoman,nervous,hardofhearing,alwaysgatheredupthereinsandstartedoff,onlytobehustledandorderedbackintothelinebythenearestmarshal.Thismanoeuvreneverfailedtoproduceitseffectofhilarityuponthosenearathand.Everybodylaughedattheblunderer,thejokerjeeringaudibly.
