           Withoutconcertedplans,obeyingnosignalbutthepromptingsoftheimpulsethatsnatched,unerring,atopportunity—themen,DelaneyandChristianfromoneside,thesheriffandthedeputyfromtheother,rushedin.Theydidnotfire.ItwasDykealivetheywanted.Oneofthemhadariatasnatchedfromasaddle-pommel,andwiththistheytriedtobindhim.
