Adreadfulstormwasapproaching;oncemorethesailswerereefed,andthegreatshippursuedherflyingcourseovertheragingsea. Thewavesrosemountainshigh,asiftheywouldhaveovertoppedthemast;buttheshipdivedlikeaswanbetweenthem,andthenroseagainontheirlofty,foamingcrests. Tothelittlemermaidthisappearedpleasantsport;notsotothesailors.
