           “Anyonewithhalfwitcouldhaveseenhecouldsing,withouthavingtobetold,”shethought.“It’sintheslendernessofhisfingersandhisquicknervoustouch.Itisinthebrightnessofhishair,thefireofhiseyes,thebreadthofhischest,themusclesofhisthroatandneck;andaboveall,it’sineverytoneofhisvoice,forevenashespeakit’sthesweetestsoundIeverheardfromthethroatofamortal.”

           “Willyoudosomethingforme?”sheasked.

           “Good!That’sbusiness!”saidtheAngel.“Yougooverthereandstandbeforethathedgeandsingsomething.Justanythingyouthinkoffirst.”

           FrecklesfacedtheAngelfromhisbankedwallofbrown,blue,andcrimson,withitsbackgroundofsolidgreen,andliftinghisfacetothesky,hesangthefirstthingthatcameintohismind.
