           Helefttheroom,ranacrosstwoorthreefieldstowardstheflock,gotuponahedge,andlookedoveramongthem.

           Thiswasenoughtore-establishhiminhisoriginalopinion.Heknewnowthathewasright,andthatTroywaswrong.Everyvoiceinnaturewasunanimousinbespeakingchange.Buttwodistincttranslationsattachedtothesedumbexpressions.Apparentlytherewastobeathunder-storm,andafterwardsacoldcontinuousrain.Thecreepingthingsseemedtoknowallaboutthelaterrain,butlittleoftheinterpolatedthunder-storm;whilstthesheepknewallaboutthethunder-stormandnothingofthelaterrain.

           Thiscomplicationofweathersbeinguncommon,wasallthemoretobefeared.Oakreturnedtothestack-yard.Allwassilenthere,andtheconicaltipsofthericksjutteddarklyintothesky.Therewerefivewheat-ricksinthisyard,andthreestacksofbarley.
