           “Together?”saidMrs.Medlock,hastilyoverfillinghisbeer-muginherexcitement.

           “Together,ma’am,”andBengulpeddownhalfofhisnewmugatonegulp.

           “WherewasMasterColin?Howdidhelook?Whatdidtheysaytoeachother?”

           Anditwasnottwominutesbeforeheswallowedthelastofhisbeerandwavedhismugsolemnlytowardthewindowwhichtookinthroughtheshrubberyapieceofthelawn.

           WhenMrs.Medlocklookedshethrewupherhandsandgavealittleshriekandeverymanandwomanservantwithinhearingboltedacrosstheservants’hallandstoodlookingthroughthewindowwiththeireyesalmoststartingoutoftheirheads.

           AcrossthelawncametheMasterofMisselthwaiteandhelookedasmanyofthemhadneverseenhim.AndbyhissidewithhisheadupintheairandhiseyesfulloflaughterwalkedasstronglyandsteadilyasanyboyinYorkshire—MasterColin!
