Therewaseveryjoyonearthinthesecretgardenthatmorning,andinthemidstofthemcameadelightmoredelightfulthanall,becauseitwasmorewonderful.Swiftlysomethingflewacrossthewallanddartedthroughthetreestoaclosegrowncorner,alittleflareofred-breastedbirdwithsomethinghangingfromitsbeak.DickonstoodquitestillandputhishandonMaryalmostasiftheyhadsuddenlyfoundthemselveslaughinginachurch.

Theysettleddownsoftlyuponthegrassandsattherewithoutmoving.
