           “Goandtellhertocomehere,”hesaid.“Sheisinthenextroom.”

           Marywentandbroughtherback.PoorMarthawasshakinginhershoes.Colinwasstillfrowning.

           “HaveyoutodowhatIpleaseorhaveyounot?”hedemanded.

           “Ihavetodowhatyouplease,sir,”Marthafaltered,turningquitered.

           “HasMedlocktodowhatIplease?”

           “Everybodyhas,sir,”saidMartha.

           “Well,then,ifIorderyoutobringMissMarytome,howcanMedlocksendyouawayifshefindsitout?”

           “Pleasedon’tlether,sir,”pleadedMartha.
