’Yes,itisadullbeginning.Isay,letuspretendthatitistheend.’
AndthenatlasttheyallgotintobedforWendy’sstory,thestorytheylovedbest,thestoryPeterhated.Usuallywhenshebegantotellthisstoryhelefttheroomorputhishandsoverhisears;andpossiblyifhehaddoneeitherofthosethingsthistimetheymightallstillbeontheisland.Butto-nightheremainedonhisstool;andweshallseewhathappened.
