           Buthelookedtoonightheboat;forasifbentuponescapingwiththecorpsehebore,andasiftheparticularplaceofthelastencounterhadbeenbutastageinhisleewardvoyage,MobyDickwasnowagainsteadilyswimmingforward;andhadalmostpassedtheshipwhichthusfarhadbeensailinginthecontrarydirectiontohim,thoughforthepresentherheadwayhadbeenstopped.
