           Inconnexionwiththisappellativeof"Whalebonewhales,"itisofgreatimportancetomention,thathoweversuchanomenclaturemaybeconvenientinfacilitatingallusionstosomekindofwhales,yetitisinvaintoattemptaclearclassificationoftheLeviathan,foundeduponeitherhisbaleen,orhump,orfin,orteeth;notwithstandingthatthosemarkedpartsorfeaturesveryobviouslyseembetteradaptedtoaffordthebasisforaregularsystemofCetologythananyotherdetachedbodilydistinctions,whichthewhale,inhiskinds,presents.
