           Afewsecondslateraroarlikethunderburstuponourears,andasthesmokethinnedawaytherewasnosignleftoftheGloriaScott.Inaninstantweswepttheboat’sheadroundagainandpulledwithallourstrengthfortheplacewherethehazestilltrailingoverthewatermarkedthesceneofthiscatastrophe.
