NotsowithTarzanoftheApes.Fromearlyinfancyhissurvivalhaddependeduponacutenessofeyesight,hearing,smell,touch,andtastefarmorethanuponthemoreslowlydevelopedorganofreason.
TheleastdevelopedofallinTarzanwasthesenseoftaste,forhecouldeatlusciousfruits,orrawflesh,longburiedwithalmostequalappreciation;butinthathedifferedbutslightlyfrommorecivilizedepicures.
Almostsilentlytheape-manspedoninthetrackofTerkozandhisprey,butthesoundofhisapproachreachedtheearsofthefleeingbeastandspurreditontogreaterspeed.
