           Sotheydugandduglikeeverything;anditgotawfuldark,andtherainstarted,andthewindswishedandswushedalong,andthelightningcomebriskerandbrisker,andthethunderboomed;butthempeoplenevertooknonoticeofit,theywassofullofthisbusiness;andoneminuteyoucouldseeeverythingandeveryfaceinthatbigcrowd,andtheshovelfulsofdirtsailingupoutofthegrave,andthenextsecondthedarkwipeditallout,andyoucouldn’tseenothingatall.

           Atlasttheygotoutthecoffinandbeguntounscrewthelid,andthensuchanothercrowdingandshoulderingandshovingastherewas,toscrougeinandgetasight,youneversee;andinthedark,thatway,itwasawful.
